President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in solemn events on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the 1941−1945 war, during his state visit to Moscow on 9 May, as reported by the press service of the head of state.

Presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Guinea-Bissau, Laos, and Cuba also attended the Victory Parade on Red Square.

Following the parade, the presidents laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden. The heads of state observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers. The ceremony concluded with a solemn march by the company of honor guard and orchestra.
