The BYD Uzbekistan Factory, located in Jizzakh region, signed agreements with Chinese partners for production of new models in Uzbekistan, Uzavtosanoat company said.
The company has plans to produce two budget models — BYD Seagull and BYD E2. Initial samples are currently undergoing testing in the country.
To ensure compliance and safety, the models are undergoing certification testing at UzTest’s laboratories.
The tests cover electromagnetic compatibility, brake system efficiency, internal and external noise levels, heating and cooling systems, handling and stability, lighting systems, and more.
The testing and market research are expected to take approximately three months.
Additionally, new standards are being developed in collaboration with the Technical Regulation Agency to align with international environmental standards, safety requirements, and proper disposal of car batteries.
As reported earlier, the factory commenced production of BYD Chazor and Song Plus models in late June.
