The Karakalpak yurt in the Oq Qush (White Swan) complex in the capital of Karakalpakstan, Nukus, was included in the Guinness Book of world records as the largest non-collapsible yurt, with the diameter of 40.5 meters, the Tourism committee of Uzbekistan said.

A ceremony to award the certificate by representatives of the Guinness World Records took place on 22 August. The event was attended by chairman of the Jokargy Kenes (parliament) of Karakalpakstan Amanbai Orynbaev, advisor to the president of Uzbekistan on sustainable development of the Aral Sea region Tursinkhan Khudaybergenov and others.

The 22 meter high structure was built by Orol Agro company. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s annual dialog with entrepreneurs was held in this yurt on 20 August.
