Uzbekistan Airways will conduct flights from 2 October, while avoiding the airspace of Iraq and the western part of Iran, the company’s press service said.
The instruction was given by the Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan in connection with the situation in the Middle East.
Uzbekistan Airways added that it would continue to operate flights Tashkent — Tel Aviv — Samarkand/Tashkent, “using alternative routes to ensure maximum flight safety”.
On 1 October, the Uzbekistan Airways flight HY304 Tel Aviv — Samarkand — Tashkent was delayed by about two hours due to a missile attack to Israel from Iran. The flight continued after the airspace was reopened.
The revision of flight routes from cities of Uzbekistan to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) was announced by Air Samarkand. Centrum Air company also adjusted its routes.
Earlier, Flynas (Saudi Arabia) and Qeshm Air (Iran) said they were temporary cancelling flights to Uzbekistan.
