Early voting for election of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and regional, city and district kengashes (councils) will take place from 16 to 23 October, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said on 8 October.

The voters who cannot be at their place of residence on the election day can participate in the early voting.

During these days, polling stations will be open from 9:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekends.

Early voting in diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad will be held from 9:00 to 18:00 (local time).

The CEC also considered the issue of ensuring voting rights for persons with disabilities.

For the 27 October elections, 11 candidates with disabilities have been registered for the Legislative Chamber and 605 for local councils, the CEC said.

1,343 individuals with disabilities have been employed by election commissions. Volunteers will assist over 830,000 voters with disabilities during the elections.

The CEC approved the use of the Braille stencil templates for voting papers and the installation of specially equipped booths for secret voting, magnifying glasses and extra lighting at polling stations for people with disabilities.

The voters unable to attend polling stations in person will be able to vote from their place of residence.
