The electronic voting system will be tested for the first time at 10 polling stations in Tashkent on the day of the election of deputies to the parliament’s Legislative Chamber and local councils, the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan said.

The commission’s press service told Gazeta.uz that the electronic system will be available at stations 16 to 25. There are a total of about 780 voting stations in the city.

A total of 37 electronic voting devices are planned to be used. Such devices are used in a number of countries, including the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Singapore, Australia and others.

The use of the electronic serves should improve the efficiency of the process and counting the votes, ensuring the optimization of the work of election commissions.
At polling stations where electronic voting will be tested, voters have the right to choose a traditional or electronic form of voting.
