Flight HY101 on Tashkent — New York route, operated by Uzbekistan Airways, was interrupted twice on 5 November, the airline’s press service said.

The Boeing 787 plane departed Tashkent at 6:47 a.m. as scheduled. Shortly after takeoff, the captain requested to return to the airport due to a medical issue with a passenger, a Russian citizen born in 1967.

The plane landed at 7:35 a.m., where an ambulance was waiting for the passenger.

The flight took off again at 9:30 a.m., with an expected arrival time in New York at 12:30 p.m. local time.

While flying through Canadian airspace, the captain decided to divert to Goose Bay Airport in eastern Canada — this time due to a passenger experiencing premature labor.

The plane landed at 8:50 p.m. Tashkent time, and medical personnel boarded. The passenger was hospitalized.

The flight took off again for its final destination at 1:20 p.m. local time (10:20 p.m. Tashkent time). It landed to New York at 2:38 p.m.
