President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 16 December reviewed the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan international tourist center project planned in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, the president’s press service said.
Azerbaijani singer and entrepreneur Emin Agalarov, alongside several major investment companies, expressed readiness to construct the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan tourist center on the shores of Charvak water reservoir, according to the message.
The project envisions recreational areas, beaches, sports facilities, hotels, cottages and residential complexes. Plans also include opening stores with international brands, restaurants and service points. The center is expected to host festivals, concerts and cultural events.
To enhance visitor convenience, a bridge will be built across the bay. In the long term, the center aims to become a unique year-round tourist hub offering leisure and residential opportunities.
The president supported the proposal, emphasizing the need for phased construction and design based on advanced international experience. He instructed the creation of a commission led by the prime minister to develop the project’s legal framework and address infrastructure challenges.
In an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Emin Agalarov described the project’s potential scale of “5−7 million square meters” (500−700 hectares). According to him, Sea Breeze Uzbekistan will also include schools, a water park, recreational parks and water and winter sports complexes.
“The head of the state noted that he is aware of the successful operation of the Sea Breeze project in Azerbaijan. We have experience launching this project,” Agalarov stated.
Sea Breeze is a premium seaside resort and coastal complex spanning 500 hectares, founded by Emin Agalarov in 2006. The resort city is located on the Caspian Sea coast, a 30-minute drive from central Baku.
Emin Agalarov, son of Russian businessman Araz Agalarov and former son-in-law of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, married the president’s eldest daughter, Leyla Aliyeva, in 2006 and divorced in 2015. He is also known in the music world as Emin.
In late August, Agalarov Development announced plans to build a residential complex with a hotel in central Tashkent, the project is estimated at $133 million.
