The General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan charged two Russian citizens in absentia as suspects in the criminal case involving the attempted assassination of former presidential administration official Komil Allamjonov, the the agency announced.

“It has been established that citizens of Russia Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov committed criminal acts, including illegal entry into and exit from the Republic of Uzbekistan, failure to report a crime and illegal trafficking of firearms,” the statement said.

Both men have been remanded in custody in absentia and declared wanted via Interpol.

Bislan Rasaev is 36 years old and speaks Russian and Chechen languages. According to Interpol website, he is charged with:

  • article 241 parts 1 of Criminal Code (Failure to Report about Crime or Concealment Thereof);
  • article 246 parts 1 (Smuggling);
  • article 248 parts 1 (Illegal Possession of Arms, Ammunition, Explosive Substances, or Explosive Assemblies).

Shamil Temirkhanov is 31 and speaks Russian. He is charged with failure to report a crime or conceal it Illegal trafficking of firearms, ammunition, essential parts of firearms, explosives, explosives or explosives devices.
