President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter of condolences to acting president of the Republic of Korea Choi Sang-mok following a plane crash in the city of Muan, which resulted in numerous fatalities.

The head of the state expressed sincere sympathy and support to the people of Korea, the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as wished a speedy recovery to the ones who survived, the president’s press secretary Sherzod Asadov said.

On Sunday morning, a Jeju Air Boeing 737−8AS, flying from Bangkok, skidded off the runway at Muan airport, located 288 kilometers southwest of Seoul.

The aircraft landed without its landing gear deployed and collided at high speed with a barrier before catching fire. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

There were 175 passengers on board, all of whom were citizens of the Republic of Korea, except for 2 Thai nationals, along with 6 crew members. Only 2 survivors were found, members of the crew.
