Doctors of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Afghanistan’s Balkh province aboard the “health train” on 25 December, conducted medical examinations of over 1,300 residents in three days, the Uzbekistan Railways company said.

The train, equipped with 15 types of medical equipment, brought a team of 28 doctors, who will continue examinations until 30 December.

Among those examined, 576 were men, 464 women and 273 children.

In addition to medical services, residents of the province received humanitarian aid, including 50 types of medicines and hygiene products valued at 1.6 billion soums ($123,670).

The humanitarian assistance and deployment of medical personnel were carried out under the directive of president Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
