President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to president of the US Joe Biden following the tragic loss of lives caused by a terrorist attack in New Orleans, his press secretary Sherzod Asadov said.
On behalf of the people of Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev expressed heartfelt sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the American people. He also wished a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.
In the early hours of 1 January, 2025, a vehicle drove into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve in downtown New Orleans. According to the latest reports, at least 15 people were killed and over 30 were injured. The assailant was fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement at the scene.
