President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov visited Uzbekistan, press service of Uzbekistan’s president announced.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 25 January held an informal meeting with Japarov at the Amirsoy ski resort complex in Tashkent region.
The two leaders exchanged views on key bilateral issues, international politics and regional cooperation, the statement said.
“President of Kyrgyzstan highly praised the conditions and modern infrastructure of the tourist ski complex, which meets high global standards,” the press service noted.
An agreement was reached to promote joint projects aimed at developing resort and recreational centers, taking into account the unique geo-landscape and natural diversity of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
“Everything is at the highest level”
Sadyr Japarov shared his impressions of Amirsoy resort on Facebook, posting photos taken at the site, including from ski lifts.

“Mountains cover 94% of our country’s territory. Each of our seven regions could have such ski resorts. But we practically have none. Why? Because since gaining independence, from ordinary citizens to presidents, we were engaged exclusively in politics. Every day there were rallies, every day — celebrations. No attention was paid to the economy, tourism and other important sectors,” Japarov stated.

“Seeing Amirsoy ski resort, I was amazed. My colleague Shavkat Mirziyoyev built this high-level resort from scratch. No words. Well done. So many people are employed here! Millions of tourists come here to relax. The level of service is on par with Europe. Everything is at the highest level,” Japarov wrote.
