President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to president of the US Donald Trump in connection with numerous human casualties resulting from the airplane crash near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, press secretary of the president Sherzod Asadov said.
“The head of the state expressed sincere words of sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the entire American people,” the statement noted.
On 29 January, an American Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 carrying 60 passengers on a flight from Kansas collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter while approaching Reagan National Airport and crashed into the Potomac river.
A total of 28 bodies were recovered — 27 from the plane and 1 from the helicopter. Authorities said there was no hope of finding survivors, and emergency services were shifting from rescue operations to recovery efforts.
