Uzbekistan suggests a procedure to designate foreign citizens as undesirable. The designation may be based on statements and actions threatening the country’s sovereignty, integrity, and security, inciting interstate and national enmity, demeaning the honor, dignity, or history of its people.

US trade representative Katherine Tai had meetings with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and several ministers in Tashkent. The ambassador reaffirmed the intention of the US to support Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO, and to resume granting trade preferences under the GSP system.
All buildings with mosaics in Tashkent freed from advertising banners
All residential buildings with mosaics in Tashkent have been cleared of advertising banners, the city hokimiyat and Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation said. Over two months, more than 40 mosaics have been uncovered, and some 30 more works have been returned to the public since 2021.
US trade representative to visit Uzbekistan
US trade representative Katherine Tai will visit Tashkent and Samarkand on 11−12 June. She will meet with president of Uzbekistan and other officials. She will also attend the US — Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.

President of Uzbekistan to make official visit to Türkiye

Uzbekistan plans to join WTO by 2026
Uzbekistan intends to access the WTO by the 14th Ministerial Conference in Cameroon in 2026, deputy prime minister Jamshid Khodjayev said. He led the country’s delegation at the 8th meeting of the Working Party on the Accession of Uzbekistan to the WTO.
