Air quality in Tashkent can now be monitored on Air Tashkent portal. The department of digital development under the hokimiyat installed 10 air quality monitoring stations, with 30 more planned ahead. The website also shows registered fire, location of heating centers and other data.
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agree to install transboundary water meters
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to install water meters for measuring cross-border water consumption, enabling bilateral online data exchange. Previously, similar gauging stations were installed along the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border for the same purpose.

Population census in Uzbekistan is now scheduled for 2025−2026. Initially planned for 2022, it was postponed due to the pandemic. The results are expected to be published in 2027. Additionally, the Statistics Agency will start preparations for the agricultural census.
Liability for illegal drone usage softened in Uzbekistan
President of Uzbekistan signed changes to laws softening liability for violation of the ban on drone import and use. First-time violators will now be fined and not sent to jail. Adjustments are part of efforts to attract more tourists (there were cases of prosecution of tourists).

Tashkent singer Laylo Rikhsiyeva (Laylo) released a music video titled “Home” on environmental issues in Uzbekistan. The video quickly went viral online. In an interview with Gazeta.uz, Laylo discussed the song’s creation, meaning in the video footage and her relation to the composer Yunus Rajabi.
