Construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway was launched on 27 December. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said it would transport up to 15 million tons of cargo annually, reducing transit distance by thousands of kilometers and delivery times from China to Europe by nearly a week.
Construction on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is set to begin on 27 December, president of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced. Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers and the joint railway company signed an investment agreement for the project.
President of Uzbekistan encouraged foreign investors to participate in projects for the joint construction of hydroelectric power plants in neighboring Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railroads.
