Starting from 2025, private internet service providers in Uzbekistan will be allowed to directly connect to international internet channels as an experiment. This should abolish the monopoly held by Uzbektelecom, which has been planned for many years.
Nearly all schools across Uzbekistan are equipped with fiber-optic and radio-relay lines for Internet connectivity. However, the provision of computers hinges on budget allocations, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov stated.
