One of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges Binance, which is blocked in Uzbekistan, is entering the country through a local partner Coinpay. The company reached an agreement with the regulator and paid a fine imposed in 2024 for violating the country’s cryptocurrency transaction laws.
President of Uzbekistan signed a decree legalizing bookmaking in the country starting from 1 January 2025. The existing ban, in place since 2007, has been “practically ineffective”, with people actively using foreign and illegal services, according to the official comment.
Binance, international crypto exchange, has been fined in Uzbekistan for operating without a license, National Agency of Perspective Projects said.
