Uzbekistan and OSCE/ODIHR have started evaluating the country’s needs for observing the 2024 parliamentary elections. Experts from the Needs Assessment Mission expressed gratitude for the steps taken to incorporate early OSCE/ODIHR recommendations into the electoral legislation and practices.
The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) opened its election observation mission for the early presidential election in Uzbekistan. The mission will assess the conduct of the election for its compliance with international and national standards for democratic elections.
Ambassadors to the OSCE representing France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, who recently visited Uzbekistan and other countries of Central Asia, reflect on promoting the concept of comprehensive security in the region.
