Uzbekistan to develop draft law on reducing plastic waste
The Ministry of Ecology of Uzbekistan will develop a draft law on reducing plastic waste by November. It is expected to introduce plastic collection points, install container return machines or a payback system for returning packaging to manufacturers.

Uzbekistan may ban plastic bags starting in 2027
Uzbekistan plans to ban the production, import and use of plastic bags starting in 2027, according to a draft state program. Manufacturers and importers of goods in plastic packaging may be required to establish collection and recycling points.
