Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed the development of relations between the countries over a phone call and exchanged views on the situation in Syria and Ukraine.
President of Uzbekistan instructed Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ease visa terms with the UK, Germany and other countries for citizens seeking education abroad. Additionally, the head of Youth Affairs Agency announced loans for travel expenses for Work and Travel participants.

Tanzila Narbayeva was re-elected as chairperson of Uzbekistan’s Senate for the third term. She has led the upper house since 2019. Sodiq Safoyev was re-elected as first deputy chairperson, and Amanbay Orynbaev as deputy chairperson of the Senate.
President of Uzbekistan signed amendments to the law related to designating foreigners “undesirable”. The government has one month to approve the relevant procedure.
In the new era, parliament must evolve into a people’s house, with its lower chamber fostering ideas, competition and debates, president of Uzbekistan told the newly elected Legislative Chamber. He called for energizing the opposition in the parliament.

At the BRICS Plus summit in Kazan, Russia, president of Uzbekistan called for reforms in global governance institutions, emphasized the need to expand South-South and North-South dialogues and addressed the humanitarian crises in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
In 2025, Uzbekistan will allocate additional 100 billion soums for Yashil Makon (Green Land) tree-planting project, president announced. The investment program will now cover 3 years of tree maintenance and the management of 16 million ha of pastures.
In his message on the Uzbek language day, president of Uzbekistan emphasized that the state language should primarily serve to unite society. “In such a delicate and sensitive issue as language, it is essential to act prudently and with restraint,” he said.
