Requiem for Amir Temur square. Witness statements.
14 years ago, tree felling began in Tashkent’s Amir Temur Square. The loss of the capital’s central square became the most tragic event of the year. Gazeta.uz talked to eyewitnesses about the felling and studied archival publications in the media about the stance of the authorities.

Many roads in Tashkent are being reconstructed. Why now?
Past few weeks citizens of Tashkent found themselves surrounded by road work. Hokimiyat wants to improve stable electricity supply. 2023 will see renovation of 903 km of power lines and 228 transformers. Works of this scale are being done for the first time.
